TERRENCE ROBLE General AWSOME slide!!! It is terrible that EL became part of Conrail, and made a yard photograph like this vanish! At least CSX restored an EL caboose for the Marion yard local. 12/2/2008 10:47:54 PM
Jon Clark General Nope, 831 was scrapped. The only surviving Erie E8A is #833. There was a group that restored some E8s of other histories into Erie, but they were numbered 834 and 835. There never ectually was an 834 and 835 . Great shot btw! 12/13/2008 1:47:49 PM

Tom Beckett General I can just picture this set rolling along the main west from Decatur, banging the NKP diamond at Kingsland, through Markle as I pace on US 224. US 224 is still there, but the railroad is empty roadbed, much of which still exists there almost 50 years later. Across Indiana, a lot of it has been plowed under where it was in farmer's fields, and some has just grown back over, and it's hard to tell there was ever a track. At the time of the photo, it all looked good. Six weeks later....not so much. Home page 06-01-2021 6/1/2021 3:58:14 AM
